Memories Of Glan Hall

Hi folks,

Just remembering the many good nights that I spent in Glan Hall in the late 40s and early 50s -it was always packed out every Sunday night and there was plenty of talent there.

Admission:
Ladies 1 shilling
Gents 1-6 pence

The band, as I remember them, were:

Phil Bernard on the saxophone
Hugh Strong on the drums
Kathleen Sheridan
Frankie Arthur on accordions
Jimmy Shannon
Pat Ned Paddy (Páidín) on fiddles.

What a showband!

Sadly, they are all now gone to their eternal reward as are many others of that era, God rest their souls. Those were the days……..
